This policy helps us preserve a positive booking experience for our renters. If you are an owner and want to cancel a reservation, the following policies will apply.
Owners are allowed a maximum of 3 INSTAbook cancellations in a rolling six-month window. INSTAbook is automatically disabled for 45 days once an owner exceeds that cancellation threshold. After 45 days, INSTAbook access is returned, but owners have to manually reactivate the feature to begin using it again.
After 2 cancelations by an owner in a rolling 6-month window, all additional cancellations result in a cancellation fee.
If an owner cancels within 7 days of the pickup date, an automated review is added to their account, noting the cancellation. The owner can respond to that review if they wish to clarify their cancellation. This review will not contribute to your overall star rating.
If an owner cancels within 2 days of the pickup date, guests can leave a public review on their listing profile. The owner can respond to that review if they wish to clarify their cancellation.
Because of the rapidly-evolving nature of COVID-19, we are currently unable to adapt our policies around the pandemic. Though we made some exceptions in March, we must now return to our original cancellation policies put in place for the protection of our valued renters and dedicated owners.
