So you’ve booked an RV for you and your furry pal, now what? Well, you’ll also need to find a pet-friendly campground. 

But you don’t want just any campground that allows pets. You want a campground that’s a fun and safe home away from home for you AND your pets. And we’ll help you find it!

As we said, it’s important that dogs and other pets aren’t only allowed but welcomed to the campground.

Medina Highpoint Resort

What some call the “hidden gem” of the Texas Hill Country, Medina Highpoint Resort is beautiful and pet-friendly. You and fido can camp under the Texas stars in your RV or a cabin!

Hill Country State Natural Area

With 40 miles of multi-use trails, Hill Country State Natural Area is a great place to take your pup on a nice, long walk. Explore the “Cowboy Capital of the World,” Bandera, with its valleys, limestone hills, and spring-fed streams.

Swiss Alps of Texas

Adventure through the 85-mile loop, across the Medina and the Sabinal Rivers, and through the gorgeous vistas.

Bandera Brewery

Sit back and enjoy a good, local brew at Bandera Brewery. Friendly, leashed pets are welcome inside their taproom and outside in the beer garden!

Pigeon Forge Landing

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

There are two pet-friendly trails within the Great Smoky Mountains — the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail.

Smoky Mountain River Rat Tubing

Float along the Beautiful Little River. River Rat’s Tubing Outpost A is pet-friendly and dogs float for just $5!

Sevierville’s PetSafe Unleashed Dog Park

Take your pup to run at Sevierville’s dog park where you’ll find separate large and small dog areas, dog agility equipment, water, shade, and observation cameras. WiFi is also available for dog owners.

Yosemite RV Resort

Oaks, manzanitas, waterfalls, and rolling hills all decorate the 35 acres of Yosemite Valley RV Resort. You are your pet can enjoy Yosemite and all the resort has to offer from the comfort of your RV or one of the pet-friendly cabins or yurts

Yosemite National Park

In general, leashed pets are allowed on most fully paved roads, sidewalks, and bike paths throughout Yosemite National Park. You can get good views of many popular spots, including Half Dome, Bridalveil Fall, and Yosemite Falls, from these paved roads.

Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad

Steam trains that used to haul logs from the forests of Central California along this railroad. Now, you and your dog can hop on to take a scenic journey around the tree-line mountains of Fish Camp.

Lewis Creek Trail

A 3.7-mile out-and-back trail to Corlieu Falls and Red Rock Falls takes you through the beauty of Sierra National Forest.

Garden of the Gods RV Resort

Take in the view of Pikes Peak, called “America’s Mountain,” all from the comfort of your Garden of the Gods campsite. The site, nestled in the foothills of the Colorado Mountains, boasts easy access to trails and other endless recreational activities.

As long as your pet is leashed, it is welcomed to hike through the trails of red rock formations with you. You can even grab a bite at the Bean Sprouts Cafe!

Seven Falls

Take your pup to admire the seven cascading falls. A 224-step stairway will lead you up to the top and on to Inspiration Point. If you’re up for the climb, the view is great!

Bear Creek Dog Park

In Bear Creek Regional Park, Bear Creek Dog Park is a 25-acre off-leash park with plenty of room for your dog to run and roam. There is also a 2-acre section for small and senior dogs.
