“My wife, kids, and I love to travel,” Chad Fischer tells us. “I did a lot of RV traveling as a kid so it just made sense to do the same with my own kids.  As soon as I could afford my first camper, I jumped at the opportunity! That first RV was a pleasure purchase. We just wanted something our family could travel in.”

Then COVID hit and changed everything for the Fischer family. “I’ve spent the last 10+ years working in tax law and representing clients against the IRS,” Chad explains to us. “However, during and after COVID, the tax industry took a tremendous downturn, and I threw myself full-time into RV rentals.

“After posting our first listing with Outdoorsy, I had inquiries within the first day and my first confirmed booking within 24 hours,” Chad recalls. “Honestly, I was shocked!”

The business only grew from there. “Currently, I am averaging about $3,000–$4,000 in net rental income,” Fischer says. “We now have two RVs that we own and a handful that we manage for private owners. The nuances of dealing with renters can be painstaking, so our management program allows RV owners to retain ownership of their rig and collect a paycheck without the headache of dealing with renters, inquiries, or even lifting a finger.”

This is a lot for any one person to handle. Fortunately, Chad is definitely not on his own. “My wife is full-time with our children while also playing an important role in developing marketing strategies and overall business enhancement,” Chad tells us. “She is the glue that holds our family and business together!”

The biggest thing Chad and his wife Julie have done to grow their business? They focus on offering an amazing experience. “Our maintenance is impeccable, our customer service is available 24/7, and we even offer our own roadside assistance,” Chad says. “We offer meal prep/planning and party decorations for special occasions.

“Also,” he adds, “our welcome baskets can’t be beat.”

Thinking of these little things has brought a huge number of renters the Fischer’s way. “I have met people from all walks of life,” Chad shares. “This is one of the things I love most about this business! I’ve met other RV owners, local renters, large families traveling abroad, quiet retired couples, young partygoers, and even celebrities. Some of my renters have even become my good friends!”

The Fischer’s goal for their business? Helping all of those amazing people have a wonderful time, of course! “I hope my RVs allow other families to share experiences and create the same lasting memories I have with my family,” Chad tells us. “RVing gives me a sense of freedom and peace, and I hope others can experience the same!”
